There’s such an air of excitement surrounding most special occasions. Whether it is your high school prom, your best friend’s engagement party or your daughter’s wedding, shopping for your special occasion dress should be a wonderful event. Of course, shopping for such an important garment can also be stressful, so you want to make sure you have only fabulous memories of this particular trip.

Enlist the help of a friend you know you can trust to be gently honest before you head out to the boutiques. Not only will she provide a fresh, outside perspective, but she may have some ideas you haven’t considered. Be sure you have a firm budget amount in mind in order to keep yourself from being swayed by fast-talking sales people, and remember that most of them earn commission on how much you spend, not how great you look. Consider also the type of event, how formal it is, the season and your place in the occasion. If this is someone else’s big day, you want to look amazing without stealing the show.

While you probably have a style and even a color in mind for your special event gown, try and keep an open mind. You may be surprised by hues and designs you wouldn’t have considered if you just try them on. Rely on your trusted counsel and be sure to pick out shoes and accessories while you have the dress in hand. You may not be able to remember the particular shade of red or be able to describe that original neckline afterwards.

At Prada’s most recent show, the designs displayed appeared to have been inspired by a most unlikely sport: golf. Typically thought of as consisting of garish plaids, berets and uncoordinated patterns, the styles evoked by Prada’s offerings focused mainly on slim, patterned pants, silk cardigans and four-button, double-breasted jackets. Attention was also given to the brightly-hued golf shoes worn with each ensemble, and this is probably the central aspect that will be reflected in more cost-conscious clothing companies.

Calvin Klein’s most recent show, on the other hand, was a decidedly futuristic look at European and American style. The minimalist design and reliance on whites, silvers and muted hues draw attention to slim-cut pants, jackets and skirts. Calvin Klein’s denim jean for the season was revealed to be a distressed fabric that had been waxed, providing for a smoother, closer fit and drape in the looser styles.

History repeated itself, over and over again, at the Burberry show in Milan. With tongue-in-cheek references to the 60s and 70s, the designer brought a more artisan look to their signature pieces of coats and suits. Otherwise, fabric as a concept received the most attention in Burberry’s collection including crocheted and bas-relief fabrics with a decidedly tactile appeal.

Other designers with shows that have historically contributed to department store trends include Armani, Ferragamo and Vivienne Westwood, all of whom showed in Milan recently. A return to classic elegance, lighter fabrics and a more serious outlook dominated these shows with only a few nods to the more whimsical or youthful looks exhibited by other houses.

Want to know about the season’s hottest color? This summer, it’s white. Yes, glaringly brilliant white, either alone or splashed with pinks, greens and yellows, is what you need for your wardrobe. Out and about in the daytime or on the office, white makes you look cool, calm and collected, even when the heat is up. At night, the new little white dress is a chic, yet bold, statement.

Pair your high-waisted, wide-legged white cotton pants with bright red strappy sandals. Drape an extra-large button-down white dress shirt over a white mini and tank, then splash on some color with a hot pink scarf. White is the perfect color for portraying innocence and class, even in the warmest of situations. Whether ruffled, buttoned or silk-sheath-smooth, you need a few high-drama white pieces in your closet this season.

Sheer white lace overlay makes the vibrant colors of the underneath tank pop and adds a bit of dainty fun to nearly any outfit. The only places to avoid white this season are handbags and shoes; while matching one to the other is an outdated trend, you still want these pieces to either lend a splash of color or to blend into a neutral background. Summer bags are big, shapeless carry-alls capable of getting you around town all day and into the night. Make sure you have a spare bikini, lip balm and lots of sunscreen to toss into your bag; nothing looks worse against white than a skin-damaging sunburn.

It’s every aspiring fashion designer’s dream to design for celebrity clients, so how can you maximize your chances of becoming a top designer? Majoring in fashion design is demanding, so don’t be blinded by the glitz and glam just yet. Top designers have to learn how to make original creations with fine detail, high standards of accuracy, and exact measurements. There is no room for error. Fashion is not just a creative industry; it’s a highly technical one that requires practice, patience, and a good education.

If you want to design for the stars, consider completing business, marketing, and fashion merchandising courses with an online college before finding a bachelor’s program accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design. A degree in fashion design means that you will be able to recreate any design you see, even the celebrity fashions on the red carpet! It’s the perfect way to practice that dream of designing for the stars.

With the right education and creative touch, you can expect to be employed by major manufacturers, design firms, wholesalers, or even work as a freelance contractor. Branding and making a name for yourself can catapult your success, so plan your business carefully. Keep in mind that you will have to be in constant contact with suppliers, manufacturers, and customers from all over the world, so let that personality shine.

Although you may start as a pattern maker or sketching assistant, you can quickly work your way up to higher-level positions. The most successful designers end up in high-fashion design firms that cater to wealthy clients.

Today’s world has become a busy one and dressing up well for an occasion is something that is often hurried through. Unlike in the past, people want to dress up for special occasions in the least amount of time possible and still look radiant. Thanks to the kinds of fashions available and accessories, it is pretty simple to achieve this if you know what you are looking for.

Getting ready for special occasions can take a small amount of work. If you are planning to attend a formal function, make sure you know what the dress code is like. Some are black tie and evening gown affairs while others are cocktail dinners. For both occasions, the kinds of outfits that you wear are different. Smart shopping means that you shop so that you have attire ready for any type of occasion and a matching set of accessories.

Some real simple tips for shopping for special occasions are to have a budget in mind to begin with. This will make it so that you do not overspend. Do some research online in your free time. This will give you an idea of the kind of dresses in the market and the fashion that is current. Once you know the kind of dress you are looking for, you could go to a retail store and find it or something close to it. A few pointers to keep in mind are the size of the dress and the garments you will need to go with it.

Finally, shop for the right accessories that will make the dress as well as you stand out in the crowd.

Each season brings with it a completely new set of fashion choices. Indulging in seasonal fashion changes to your wardrobe does not mean having to spend excessive amounts of money. In fact, all of it can be achieved on a respectable budget. A bit of mixing and matching as well as some intelligent buying is all you need to keep your wardrobe current with the changes of seasons.

There are several tips that you can follow, but a basic tip is to have a few classic pieces in your wardrobe that you are sure will never go out of style. How you add to these and accessorize will determine how different your wardrobe looks each time. The best time to buy clothes for a new season is at the end of that particular season. There are several end of summer sales where you can buy yourself some great basics in terms of clothing and the following season all you have to do is buy some accessories to go with them. The same goes with winter and other end of season sales. You will even be able to get a great bargain on some designer clothes and accessories that will be a huge addition to your wardrobe. Makeup is also an important aspect of how you carry off the fashion of the season.

Just as it goes for women, men too would like to go with the times when it comes to fashion. Although it is easier for them, poise is an important aspect of how the fashions of the season will look on a man. There are a number of ways to go about this.

There is no escaping the fashion world. Nobody wants to be seen in clothes that look like they have been bought at a garage sale. While you may opt to change your fashion according to season, you may also consider investing in some labels from designers. It is wrong to think that designer labels are meant only for exclusive occasions and are very expensive. The fact is, almost everyone can afford one piece of designer clothing.

Many women like to have designer evening gowns. They may not be items of everyday wear, but on a special occasion, they can give your personality the kind of boost that nothing else can. A great evening gown with some simple but elegant accessories will have you being toasted as the highlight of the evening.

When you go to shop for a designer outfit, it is best to have a budget in mind so that you do not overspend and actually have a bit left over for some accessories and of course dress shoes, which often add much needed class to an outfit. Designer labels are not meant for women alone. There are a number of men who would like to look great when they step out. Finding designer clothes for men too works on pretty much the same fundamentals. When you go shopping for designer clothes, whether it be online or not, it is essential that you do it with a friend. He or she will be able to give you an honest opinion and save you from being taken in by the smooth talk of the salesperson or the fact that it looks good on the model.

Looking your best can be difficult. You have to coordinate all of the pieces in your wardrobe, and then do your hair and makeup to finish off your whole image. Here are some essential items you should have in your wardrobe to look your best.

1. Blue Jeans

A nice-fitting pair of blue jeans is a must. They are something you can throw on at any time and still look good. Blue jeans have been a fashion trend for quite some time and have entered into the timeless category, so you can’t go wrong. It is a good idea to use your reach prepaid card and spend a little extra for jeans that make you look good, because it is an item you will probably wear a lot.

2. Black Dress

You’ve probably heard of people trying to find the perfect, little black dress. This is because it is an item that can be worn to anything formal without a risk. Some people are also afraid to wear too much color, and a black dress is the perfect solution to this worry.

3. A Crisp White Shirt

Both men and women would do well to wear a crisp, white, button-up dress shirt. It looks nice and is a non-threatening way to make a statement.

4. Strapless Bra

It looks really tacky when your bra straps show when you are wearing a halter top or anything that shows your shoulders. A strapless bra is an easy fix to this problem.

Go find the perfect pieces to add to your wardrobe and make sure you have the items mentioned above.

When you go clothes shopping, what exactly do you look for? Do you look for the latest offerings by famous designers? How important are labels to you? What about seasonal fashion designs? Do you change your look with the seasons?

What about fashion trends? Do you embrace each one that comes along, or do you try to buy clothing that will suit any trend?

Your fashion sense may be different from another person’s, and that’s alright. What you may consider hideously tacky at fashion shows may be another person’s favorite look. And that’s fine! People are different, so it’s no wonder that their fashion sense will be, too.

The trick is to make sure you know what your fashion sense is, and stick with that. And, if you’re not sure, don’t be afraid to ask someone to help you. They can offer hints on the types of clothing, such as Dereon pants, that will fit right in with your style.

Dereon pants are designed to show off your curves, even if you don’t think you have any. They are designed to hug your body, but you won’t look like you’ve been poured into them. Instead, you’ll look like you know you look good and you’re proud to show it.

Dereon pants come in different sizes, including plus sizes, so any woman, no matter how little or luscious she is, can enjoy dressing like she’s ready for the next set of fashion shows. So, take a chance and see just how great your fashion sense can be.

All clothes a person sees on the rack started as an idea in a fashion designer’s head. Clothes begin as an artistic sketch. Fashion designers are artists and creators. The ideas for clothes can come from about anything. Designers build collages, find fabric samples, or find inspiration from music or movies.

Once a fashion designer settles on an idea, the designer makes a pattern and clothes sample. They often begin with muslin fabric to see what the piece will look like on a person. Designers adjust their creation, and begin the process of finding fabrics suitable for the project. Then the designer or the designer’s team try to find a show, division, or line of clothing the creation’s theme will match. If the designer is part of a large company, the creation will naturally become part of the clothing line. First, the creation must survive a review process. A team looks at the piece and decides if it fits the planned theme of the company. If it does then it goes to the production floor.

On the production floor, a test pattern is made. The test pattern is taken and graded. Grading involves making different sizes of the piece. At the same time, marketing experts are targeting where best to present the fashion in the clothing business. Once the decision is made whether it is an haute courtier line or mass-market product the piece is presented to the buyers. Here is where fashion designers reputations are made or broken. Clothes bought are clothes on the rack. Ultimately, the consumer has the final say by their purchase of the product. Many purchases confirm that a new clothes trend has begun.

Spring is the height of the fashion season in cities such as New York, Milan, and Paris. The designers houses that have dominated are around, but challengers have appeared and have slowly begun to direct fashion to a different path.

This spring the Givenchy collections were successful. Givenchy design house has been around since the 1950’s. He was widely known as Audrey Hepburn’s dress designer. Clothes were simple, light, and separate. By the 1970’s, Givenchy had built a fashion empire that included shoes, furniture, and jewelry. Givenchy retired in the 1990’s, and the design house went through a quieter period. It is known as a place to incubate designer talent. In 2005, Ricardo Tisci became the director and slowly redefined the house of Givenchy. This year it paid off with its more whimsical high fashion emphasis.

Victor & Rolf are a relatively new design house formed in the 1990’s. Their medieval themed clothes caught the eye of the fashion world. The buzz was both positive and negative. Looks can be deceiving and though not biological twins, Victor & Rolf, are known for dressing and acting alike. This house loves collaboration with international brands and is somewhat unpredictable in what it will bring to a fashion event.

Haider Ackerman’s design started in 2001. He is known for his interesting use of the draping technique, and for his leather work. In the past year, he has been courted by the larger design houses for possible jobs. His designs are fresh, fluid, and elegant. He is an up and coming designer that is most likely going to be around for years to come.

Any woman who has went out to buy fashionable jeans knows fit is important. A woman has to find a designer that creates jeans that fit her type of body. Trends constantly shift so even if one year a particular set of designer jeans worked, it does not mean it will the next year. Even if they fit do they give you the best look. What is a modern girl suppose to do? Managing a career, and children leaves little time for hours of fitting.

Bloomingdale has come up with an answer with its Denim Seeker information. on its website They took real women’s opinions on different designer jeans sizing. Bloomingdale then added information on designers and terms. Now when you go to find jeans on their website they are classified by real women’s body traits. There is a list with links such as a little tummy, no booty, curvy, or can wear anything. If you click on the link, it gives you a little blurb about what jean would provide the best fit and below the blurb are jeans to buy. Bloomingdale also took the information and found five types of jeans that look good on any body type. They called them universal jeans.

Bloomingdale did not stop there. They also classified the jeans by style and by trend. The style list is skinny, cropped, boot leg, straight legged, shorts, flared and wide leg. The trend list is white, 70’s Inspired, denim alternatives, cropped and rolled. Clicking on these links gives a person the inventory of those jeans. A person can, also, find a pair a jeans by designer name as well.

Shopping for jeans now is only a couple of clicks. A person can find the perfect set of jeans with the most perfect fit and have them delivered.

There are sets of rules about what clothes you wear when, and how in certain social circles. Fashion houses and fashion designers spend and make great amounts of money. Anything that involves money will need protection, laws, and lawyers. Fashion designs are considered intellectual property and are protected by copyright and trademark laws.

Fashion law and fashion lawyers have been around for a while, but the field was not considered a specialty until the year 2000. The rise of the Internet heightened sensitivities to intellectual property. Laws that were on the books had to be extended to the new technology. Then there was an upswing in Supreme Court cases about branding, licensing, and trademark. As recently as February 2011 Levi Strauss, the blue jean company, and Abercrombie & Fitch were in a battle about having similar pocket designs. Court cases such as these are occurring all the time. They do not make front-page news or Internet news headlines very often. Fortunes of designers and the fashion houses are effected or lost according to these court decisions. Last year Fordham Law School founded the first Fashion Law Institute. Fashion law has become serious business.

People like fashion and keeping up with the latest trends, but equally most people do not like paying fashion designer price for items. One of the main driving forces that made fashion law and fashion lawyers abound is consumers seeking and purchasing counterfeit items. Even other clothing corporations think little of making a few adjustments and copying designer clothes. Now there is this constant balancing act of protecting new designs and allowing copying. Trends begin when the public buys a large amount of an item, so in some ways you want copying. It turns a little know designer into a brand name.

Tech-savvy girls love their tech toys. To accommodate the modern woman’s lifestyle, their needs to be a better place to put that tech stuff. Briefcases are large, awkward, boring, and do not express a girl’s femininity. Most purses even if they hve plenty of compartments, are not sized in a way that accommodates the IPod, laptop, and smart phone, NOOK or Kindle in a stylish way. How is a girl supposed to compete in a man’s tech world, stay organized, and take care of her technology stylishly?

Companies are finally beginning to realize that tech women exist, and have begun to make purses and bags that take care of tech toys and the woman. Totes are no longer for the beach. Computer totes come jazzed up and even in Barbie Pink with spaghetti straps! There are messenger bags that place pockets and compartments on the outside to give easy access to smart phones and keys in leopard print. Some even come with diaper compartments in case tech girl is a mom, too. If putting all the tech toys in one purse is too much to handle. A girl can add a digital accessory bag to the other shoulder. This bag holds only your most favorite tech toys all in one convenient pouch. For techwomen on the go there are combination backpacks and computer totes in leather. Prices and styles are affordable and such that a girl can match or mix and match the lot. Most of the companies are small and start ups. Once tech girls find these items it will not take long to revolutionize the bag world. It is long overdue.

At last, the tech world is not exclusively driven by male ideas and product. It means tech women have broken down that wall, and will have a visible symbol of that accomplishment in her big pink Barbie computer tote. The tech world will never be the same again.

It is possible to spend thousands of dollars on the perfect engagement ring. If you can afford to do so, that’s fine. But, if you can’t, think about this: You don’t want to enter into your marriage with a large debt already hanging over your head. If you can’t afford an expensive ring, don’t risk financial problems right off the bat by going into debt to buy one.

Tradition holds that the equivalent of two months of the groom’s salary is the least that should be spent. However, as with other things, the traditional way is not always the best way. If you want to pay this much, though, now that you know this is the “expected” amount, you can start setting money aside until that amount has been reached.

What Determines the Price of Engagement Rings?

A lot of different factors determine how much can be paid for engagement rings. The size and type of stone is usually the primary deciding factor, as the majority of the price will depend on the number of carats in a stone as well as the size of the stone. The smaller the carat and size, the less expensive the rings will be.

The design of engagement rings can also play a part in price determination. Plain gold or silver bands with little or no decoration, holding a single stone, are usually the most reasonably priced. Engagement rings that include other stones or have elaborate settings or designs will cost more.

In April, the British will have a major royal wedding. The caterers, the crowds, the businesses, and the royal family’s choices in the next couple of months will have a major effect on British and American fashion. The trends the royal wedding sets often lasts for years to come. People are mimicking Kate Middleton and Prince Williams fashion style, but the fashion effect from their wedding is much larger than that. What people choose to wear to the wedding will be noticed and create additional trends.Designer houses styles chosen for the event will influence fashion runways for several years.

This time the hysteria and frenzy on what will be chosen and what will not be chosen is almost immediate. Social media passes the information or misinformation across the world. The members of the British royal family use this media as well to give little tidbits of what is to come. The most effect will still come from the royal wedding day. The countless photos and comments of those attending will create a visual icon for the public show that design houses cannot compete with.

For a time the media and fashion, houses will follow the royal couple’s style after the wedding. Princesses are natural icons for the fashion world. What Kate Middleton chooses to wear at her many functions will decide how long the trend will last. How well the merchandisers package and price the items determines if the trend infiltrates the masses.Items from past royal weddings have become collectibles.

Royal weddings and royal couples give the public a chance to experience what fashion industry lives and breathes daily. The spectacle makes the public feel it is part of that exclusive group and harkens back to either fairy tales or intriguing stories of the rich and famous. Owning an outfit of the style or a replica of an item gives a person a connection to a life few ever experience.

Engagement ring trends are always changing. That is why it is important that you stay on top of the popular trends if you are considering purchasing an engagement ring for your girlfriend and future wife. If you are unsure of what is considered popular, here is a look at three of the most popular engagement ring trends.

A Trip Back to the Past

Vintage style rings are very popular choices for engagement rings. Many women believe the vintage design gives the ring a timeless quality to it that allows it be considered fashionable for years to come.

Colors, Colors, and More Colors

Engagement ring designers are starting to stray from the use of bright white diamonds and are starting to incorporate gemstones that bring bright, vibrant colors to the ring’s design.

A Raised Ring Setting

These ring designs allow the main diamond or gemstone to be the center of the ring by raising it above the rest of the ring in a prong setting. This style is a popular choice because it showcases the beautiful diamond or gemstone that came with the ring.

Even with brushing up on these latest trends for engagement rings, it is important to make sure that your girlfriend will really like the ring that she is wearing. While some men have an idea, others do not. If you do not have an idea of what she may or may not like for an engagement ring, consider taking her shopping with you to ensure that she gets the engagement ring style and design that she really wants.

Ever wonder why designer labels come up with a new line every six months? It’s all psychological, based on the fact that humans crave change after a cycle of a stagnancy. And the easiest thing to change is one’s wardrobe! Naturally, the fashion companies exploit on this. But other than the manipulation, are there psychological benefits to shopping?

Technically, the answer is yes! As mentioned earlier, shopping satisfies the need for change in one’s life – in an instant gratification sort of way. Rather than changing careers or homes, people can satisfy the need for something different simply by getting a new wardrobe. An easy way to ease the mind!

Further, shopping is a social experience. Shopping with friends or loved ones can help with bonding time. Great conversations can occur over working actively together. It’s a great way to spend time with someone while still accomplishing shopping goals. What’s more, a second opinion never hurts.

While it’s fun to shop with others, sometimes shopping is a solitary activity as well. It’s a good way to spend time thinking and letting out steam – pent up energy can be diffused by means of buying things. Plus, being alone allows one to reflect while they actively let loose pent up emotions with shopping.

However, it should be kept in mind that these feelings of satisfaction are fleeting. The fact of the matter is, our desires can only be curbed for so long – soon there will be a new cycle of stagnancy, a new desire for change for better and nicer things; a vicious cycle of consumption and transient contentment.

What do the Europeans have when it comes to fashion over the Americans? Turns out – plenty, depending on how you look at it. Sure, America has New York City as one of the fashion capitals of world – but can it compete with Paris and Milan of Europe?

The fact of the matter is, they are two very different senses of style, and whether one prefers American of European depends on their desire for either sophistication or self-expression.

For starters, the sneakers. Sneakers are comfortable to walk in, and are seen shamelessly on the feet of many proud Americans. In Europe, however, sneakers mean marking oneself as American. European trends have a more refined and posh affiliation to footwear, and thus sneakers are a strict no-no in these countries; instead, heels are the preferred means of travel – more of a looks over comfort thing (though, New York isn’t far behind when it comes to myriads of people solely wearing heels).

Another issue – the denim. Jeans are an accepted means of lifestyle in America, they’re casual and easy to wear – a staple diet of the youth of the country. In Europe, however, jeans are rarely ever seen on the streets. Once again, this goes back to the comfort versus posh debate. Jeans are considered “tacky” in Europe, and instead, pants or skirts are encouraged. Which gives rise to the question – what DO Europeans wear for comfort?

Dressing in decorum is dressing in comfort for the Europeans. Not being refined in clothing can lead to a great deal of discomfort for them. Whereas here in America, the idea of comfort relies on casual clothing. Which side is correct? Now there’s a debate that’s been going on for ages.

Writers, artists, musicians – when one wants to come up with a description of some of the most talented in the lot – Sylvia Plath, Van Gogh, Kurt Cobain, there is one word that comes to mind frequently – haunted.

It’s safe to say that the stereotype for most creative and talented personas is that of depressed, addicted, suicidal, and haunted – something they put into their art and thus it becomes the amazing piece that it is.

Well, fashion isn’t far behind when it comes to tormented designers putting all their emotions into their creations. One wouldn’t at first think of fashion as up there on the list of professions which sometimes requires one to be tortured in order to put out amazing work, but there are many designers out there that struggle with depression and drug addiction – and then reflect it in their work.

One such example is Alexander McQueen. His suicide came as a shock to the world, but those close to him were not surprised. It seems he had been struggling with drugs and depression for quite some time, and the death of his mother didn’t help his addictions.

The ironic thing is, when one looks at McQueen’s last collection, the one he was developing before his death, it’s interesting to see the themes of the afterlife represented in the clothing. It seems his emotional turmoil was represented in his work.

So, what does this mean for fashion? If we go by the standards of what makes something a good work of art, the real emotions displayed in it – fashion might be on it’s way to becoming what some would consider art.

Fashion designers are among some of the top paid people in the country. They get paid to do something they love, designing clothing in hopes of becoming the top designer and starting a fashion trend that becomes timeless look. Not everyone has the capability to become a fashion designer, but if you have a child that is destined to become a fashion designer, you will know it long before they do.

Ralph Lauren was interested in stylish clothing long before he hit is prime as an adult. He started wearing the most in style clothing that he could get his hands on at a young age. This will be the same if you are raising the future Ralph Lauren or his female counterparts like Vera Wang, who worked with Ralph Lauren for two years.

No doubt the parents of these two famous designers knew they were destined for greatness in the fashion design industry, while Vera Wang showed interest in figure skating before fashion, she most assuredly did so with style.

One major hint that your child is going to be the future of style is their choices in clothing. Rather than go with the “in-style” clothing that the other cool kids are wearing, it is very likely that they will come up with their own twist of the current trend. This will be a clue because they are designing already. They are putting their own creativity to work in their own look.

So keep an eye on that passion. Nourish it as much as possible. Look into possible fashion camps and schools and allow them to grow into their passion. You may be raising the next multi-million dollar fashion designer who will have clothing with their name on the label in every store in the country. It is our job as a parent to provide the means for their passion, even if it means a needle and thread.

Trends come and go, that is the very nature of a “trend”. Styles never remain in style for long. Buying the latest fashions as an adult is fun, but is it smart in today’s economy? No way. Smart shopping does not include shopping for trendy clothing.

One or two trendy outfits will be all you need for that particular trend era. Most trends do not last for more than two years. So running out and buying a whole new wardrobe according to the latest and greatest trend is not a smart shopping decision. Finances are tight and you cannot afford to buy a whole new wardrobe every other year.

Stick with the basics. Purchase timeless designer clothing. The “little black dress” or a suit and tie are considered a timeless look. They never go out of style. With both of those options a couple of accessories can change up the same look. Boot cut jeans have a very long outlook as far as trend life. Simple shirts are also a constant. Cotton T’s can be jazzed up with a little creativity too. The basics can lst for years and give you back your full investment.

This is not to say you cannot wear trendy clothing. You might want to buy one or at maximum two outfits per trend era. This will just keep you up to date and allow you to give the appearance of caring about style, while at the same time not allowing your choice of clothing to take food off of your table.

Now if you have all the money in the world, go for it! Buy a new outfit everyday if you want, but that is not what the average everyday person can do or should do. Clothing covers your body, that’s all. As an adult, your clothing choice does not matter as much than as a teen. Leave the trendy wardrobes to the kids.

Having a child in middle or high school can get you acquainted with clothing labels real quick. Your child will come home asking for a specific brand of jeans and you are going to wonder, “What’s a label got to do with anything at your age?” This is such a detrimental time for a child, the choice in clothing can single handedly be the key to their future social lives, while that sounds ridiculous, it is true and proven to be true by physiological statistics.

So in order to save them from social chaos, we as parents will do what it takes to assure they are getting what they need to “fit in”. So with that in mind, how do we keep them in the clothes they as for without strapping our wallets and spending ourselves into debt? This question will be the second question that makes itself across your mind when they come home asking for the newest and greatest pair of shoes.

Ideally, you would buy these things new. Shoes in particular need to be purchased new. The reason for this is because if shoes are too worn, they can damage your child’s feet from lack of support. So shopping for name brand labeled shoes might be more expensive than the clothing itself. Shop the clearance and sales as best you can. Some stores offer monthly or quarterly coupons that can save you up to forty percent. When you find that deal, buy two pairs, one size that they are wearing currently and one size larger. The savings will last longer.

In order to save on clothing, you can shop second hand without you r child ever knowing about it. You can check online auctions for used ”lots” that contain the particular name brand clothing with labels that your child is looking for. Shopping in bulk adds even more saving to your wallet.

While you may not think what your child wears to school is very important, their mental state can be altered by becoming an outcast, and if their mental state is altered, they can learn what they are there to learn adequately. Make your child’s education a little more productive by purchasing the clothing they ask for, but do not purchase them at full price and go into debt.

Fashion shows are entertaining to say the least. In some cases they can be considered a comedy act. The outrageous clothing that goes walking down the runway can be considered circus costumes before a fashion trend, but those few outfits that do walk down the runway that are actually a visual masterpiece are certainly worth purchasing or replicating if you are handy enough with a sewing machine and your imagination

After choosing the outfit you want to replicate, you can change up colors and anything you want for a more unique look. This can be a complicated procedure, but if you know what you are doing, it can be a cinch, or hem for this case.

Steps For Replication:

Figure out your pattern. This is the hardest part of the entire process. You have to study the outfit in question from every angle, so hopefully you have this particular fashion show recorded. Once you have decided on all the pieces of the pattern, you can then draw your plan onto pliant paper.

Before drawing the pattern, take your measurements. Knowing your measurements before drawing your pattern on paper will save you from making alterations later.

Cut and sew. Cut the fabric based on your pattern and sew the pieces together. You will need basic sewing knowledge for this task, but you can easily access the information needed online or at your local community college. This is a good idea for every situation, not just knowing how to replicate an outfit. Everyone should know their way around a sewing machine.

Yes it is that easy. The most complicated part of replicating the perfect fashion show trend is deciding on the right pattern. Personalize it with your choice of fabric color and material. There you have it, a replicated fashion trend that is as unique as it is popular.

Shopping for special occasions can be a bonding event especially if it is shopping for fashion clothing for a prom or a wedding. This is a mother and daughter plethora of bonding time. Shopping has become a major component for bonding between mothers and daughters. As a mother it is nice to see what your daughter likes and know what it is that she intends to wear to prom. You can have fun shopping and learning about your daughter.

Prom is one of the most important times for your daughter. They get to go through this rite of passage and follow all of the regular steps to prom. Shopping for special occasions can end up being a week long venture, from shoes to the dress, you have to help your daughter and guide her decisions when you can and if you need to.

A special occasion such as prom can easily turn into a disaster if your daughter chooses the wrong dress. This can include dresses that are to revealing or mature for their age or a dress that is not revealing enough. There is a delicate balance to choosing the right dress for a teenager. You don’t want them looking too young or too old and you want them to look and feel radiant. This night will be a memorable night for them and you do not want them looking back on the event and thinking that they wished they had worn something different.

While shopping for the dress and attempting to help them make the best dress choice possible, you can get a window into the sometimes shaded life of your teenage daughter. Sopping for special occasions and bonding go hand in hand. Have fun and befriend your teenager!

If you’re into urban fashions, you know that DrJays is the Mecca for hip hop clothing lines. The founders of the original DrJays opened their store in 1975 just as this new movement was beginning. Although they didn’t start off catering to this young crowd, they were smart enough to know a good thing when they saw it. As this vibrant underground scene turned more popular, so did the DrJays stores.

DrJays Rapid Expansion

From one little store in The Bronx, DrJays soon spread through the New York and New Jersey area with a total of 19 shops. Soon, customers from around the country and even from international locations began to come all the way to New York to experience original hip hop entertainment and to buy fashions from DrJays. With a great reputation for customer service and an inventory that includes every popular brand demanded by this segment of the marketplace, they continue to be a profitable company today.

The Online DrJays

In the 1990s, a young businessman purchased the licensing rights to create a DrJays website, and history was made. The online store soon outpaced even the DrJays storefronts in sales. Before long, anyone from outside of the New York area could purchase any brand of urban clothing without the need to travel.

Brands

If you’re looking for the best brands in urban and hip hop clothing, DrJays is the place to shop. Choose from brands like:

Apple Bottoms

Ecko Unlimited

Southpole

J. Lo

Baby Phat

Enyce

Akademiks

Of course, this is just a partial list. If the hip hop stars are wearing it, DrJays has it or will get it. Whether you’re hanging out in the neighborhood or checking out the action in a hip hop club, you’ll always be dressed your very best when you choose your styles from DrJays!

Saving money on clothing in this economy has become a necessary tradition. This is true especially if you have children. Any parent knows that keeping your child in high end, quality fashions can cost a small fortune as they grow so fast. Luckily the trick to saving is simply buying their clothing a season in advance.

Keep an eye online and in the stores and ask the sales clerks when they expect clearance of seasonal clothing to commence. Be ready with your wallet in hand as many parents are going to be waiting for the same thing. The most effective way to make sure you get the clearance prices as soon as they start is to check the clothing stores online every morning, make it a part of your morning wake-up routine. This new morning routine will make sure you are the first person to make the first purchase from your favorite children’s clothing stores.

You might be concerned that you are not going to anticipate the correct sizes for the following year, but you can if you follow two rules, for children ages 9 and under, the clothing sizes are pretty straight forward. Two T is the size recommended for two year olds and Three T is the size recommended for three year olds and so on, and so on. So if you have a two year old, buy Three T clothing for the following year. Children that are older from ages ten and up, typically grow one size a year until the just a few years after puberty. So if your ten year old daughter wears a size 0 in jeans, purchase size one and two jeans for the following year. Even if the next season approaches and your child has already outgrown the clothing purchased the previous year, you did not spend much and you can sell them online. So it is a win-win situation regardless of how you look at it.

Children’s clothing is one of the top items you pay for on a regular basis when you are a parent and if you have more than one child the amount you spend on clothing per year can hit quadruple digits easily. Shopping for seasonal clearance items a year in advance can cut that bill in half.

One would think that you absolutely need to try a piece of clothing on before you buy it. After all, taking a look at those fitting rooms and the long lines, and the sets of clothing taken in to assure the consumer of a good buy, should get it straight for you, right? Traditional shopping hasn’t died.

Think again. It’s sort of surprising, but slowly and surely, fitting rooms and the age-old pastime of a trip to the mall or department store with your girlfriends are becoming things of the past. Online shopping is beginning to replace them. The reason is that it is more reliable than it’s ever been. You can’t beat the convenience of getting online and buying something right away without spending money on gasoline or walking to do it. We’re in an age of convenience; too many people are living in the world these days, and it’s getting kind of crowded! So you can only imagine just how bad it is in fitting rooms.

Why is the internet reliable? There are faster connections and better usability on web sites. With the onset of 3D imagery, a consumer might be confident enough to buy a pair of pants and know that it will fit perfectly. Even now, if the purchase doesn’t quite work out, options to return the item with free shipping are now available–something that didn’t exist before. Moreover, getting discounts is a lot easier than it’s ever been, especially with sites such as www.Offers.com providing an infinite number of coupons and coupon codes for just about any store you can think of. These days, merchant web sites offer a coupon code space to provide discounts for anything you might choose to purchase. Shopping is indeed actually easier!

Stay home the next time you have to buy more underwear. If you have an internet connection (which these days most people do), you’re set. Online shopping is the rage these days.

We all want to look like the models on television and on the runway, wearing the newest fashion trends and accessories. You can certainly make it happen, but not after emptying your savings account. You can look great without spending your entire life savings. A little creativity and smart shopping will get you a long way and have you in those new trends with little money out of pocket.

Shopping for clearance clothing will you get you a bunch of clothes and outfits that save you money but they can be out of date and not very fashionable for that season. You can however save them for the following season and hope that they will come back into style. If they do, you just bought that outfit for a quarter of the price they were originally.

Second hand clothing is an excellent way to gain high end clothing at really low prices. Luckily there are now high end clothing trade stores. You can take your old name brand clothing to a store and trade them for new high end, name brand clothing. You might have to pay a little on top of the trade, but it is worth it. You can start an entire wardrobe for pennies on the dollar. The best part to this option is that these are high end fashions and likely to be in style for a rather long time.

The last possibility is making your own designer clothing. If you are any good with a sewing machine, you can watch the latest fashion shows and make clothes that are modeled from those you see on the runway. This option takes a bit more time than the others, but a whole lot less money.

You do not have to be an heiress or a millionaire to look like a star, just do a little homework and get those looks without putting a financial strain on your wallet.
